Experiencing the opportunity to work with clients in other regions is as good as it gets. The idea that our reach extends as far as it does from Cleveland indicates to me that all the years of hard work has been worth it. Our latest custom bar project was in the Volunteer State, that’s right- Tennessee.
Knoxville, Tennessee

This area is absolutely beautiful. It was a 7 1/2 hr. jog in a 16ft. Penske box truck which was the equivalent of driving a lawn tractor there and back. The drive from Cleveland, Ohio to Knoxville is an easy stint and traveling through cities such as Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio as well as Lexington, Kentucky made stopping for fuel & food along the way very convenient.
The actual location of the project was in a lovely area named Loudon, Tennessee that is positioned right on the Tennessee River. I arrived the night before. The plan was to spend the night and get an early start the following day. Dinner was at the world famous Hooters and if you’ve never had the opportunity to experience it, I don’t recommend it, however, it was the only place open in the area and it was a novel location but I have to say, the cold beer and southern hospitality did hit the spot.
I managed to get a good night sleep in a Holiday Inn express, woke up early and hit the road. Fortunately, the weather at the time was a balmy 80 degrees. The area was supposed to be hit with early spring storms which usually carry along with it some intense rain and even tornados. Luckily, the storm stayed north.
The project site was on the shore of the river. The custom basement bar was being installed in a lower level of the home that had a glass garage door looking out to a beautiful patio, pavilion, and impressive stone fireplace. The bar was in fact the last missing piece to making this patio something to marvel over.
A 12 foot long custom bar and 12 foot long custom back bar was what the project entailed. When I arrived, I had scheduled the help of https://mymusclemovers.com/services to meet me there and move the everything into the area. Utilizing local resources is key to a successful installation. I firmly believe that is important to align with professionals in these moments to execute with efficiency and precision.
Custom Bars in Tennessee
It was impressive how smooth everything went and it all started at the beginning when the project was merely an idea, even before it was a custom bar design. I worked closely with the client. A few phone calls and emails later, the project was underway.
The back bar is equipped with a sink, ice maker, beverage cooler, and two wine coolers. It has a solid oak counter and the client installed a cultured brick, TV and open liquor shelves to the left and right. Rustic was the theme of the area so we used authentic circle sawn oak for accent facing on the bar front, a cast iron pipe foot rail, a very heavy and solid oak bar top, and a lower level bar top on the inside.

All in all, the project was smooth from start to finish. The client was a pleasure to work with, the beautiful area of Knoxville, Tennessee was great to visit and as I mentioned before, I am truly privileged to be able to be part of such great custom bar projects. Where does thebarmaker go next? Lexington, Kentucky.
