Existing in a world that has modernized everything, seemingly overnight, has me pondering some tough decisions. We build custom bars. We design bars exactly the way you want them and then from scratch, we construct it. Afterwards, we throw away the mold. Just like that, you have your very own, custom bar.
But what about the people that don’t want that. What about the people that may not even know they want a hand built bar. Maybe they don’t even realize things like that are even a thing because everything now is well, modular. Everything comes neatly stacked in a box. You place an order online, you choose the style, you choose the color, you hope it’s in stock. You pay and a week later a driver in a box truck hauls the box to your doorstep. You probably missed that because it happens so fast now.
My clients want a unique custom bar and that’s what they get and I have to mention, we are really good at building them. Why can’t we build a fabulous built bar that is custom, you could still choose the style, you could still choose the color, but even better, it’s already built. It still gets delivered to your home or business but there’s no assembly required.

Custom Built Bars & Modular Bars
There would be stark differences between the two. One of the main differences would be the structural integrity. We put as much emphasis on perfecting how a bar is built as we do on how it looks. There is something about a bar that if it feels solid, it looks better. It makes it feel better. I truly believe that you can’t achieve that with a modular bar. If a bar is pre-built then it will simply put, be built better. Or will it?
When we design and build a custom bar for your home or business, the process usually starts with us architecting and engineering everything. In components, if you will. Typically, these bars also have back bars and quite large bar tops that we try and install in one monolithic piece if that’s possible. We’ve learned our lesson with the bar base and back bar cabinets and bar shelving etc. So along with everything else we have gotten really good at bringing the project in pieces for logistic efficiency and then once everything is on site, it simply clicks together. Aka, modular.
Could there be a hybrid between custom built bars and modular bars? The answer is absolutely and that hybrid is currently being designed and will be launched into production before the ink is even dry. I’ve come up with a way to provide a hand built bar that is custom and it will come to your home or business in a few pieces (for the reasons I mentioned) and this bar will literally slide together either by you, a neighbor, a father in-law that has all the tools or a local handyman. When the bar is assembled it will look amazing, the finish will be exquisite, and it will have the structural integrity.
TheBarMaker is looking forward to this campaign opening up so many opportunities that will align us with being associated as a brand that is quality and still artful. I don’t ever want that to go away. We will still obviously want our custom home bars and custom commercial bars to be the cornerstone of our business but there is always room for offering a solution to those who fall into the gap.
