Seating vs. The Experience
There is a fine line between creating a commercial bar that is an entertainment area or just added seating. I think an owner goes into the endeavor with the expectation that either the food will make the experience or the experience will make the food. I have the answer, it’s the latter. I don’t believe the bar or restaurant can get away with just atmosphere, I don’t think anyone would, however, some places do. https://www.instagram.com/p/DFNSiNDMa7H/?hl=en
Workflow is key
If proper workflow isn’t a priority, there will become a moment when it will prove that it should have been. Integrating concepts into commercial bar design is AS important as the aesthetics themselves. I firmly believe there shouldn’t be sacrifices made here. When the going get’s tough, clogging workflow creates tension, that then creates inefficiency, which leads to poor customer service. All of a sudden, nobody is having fun anymore.

Fresh Food & Warm Vibes
Imagine you are on vacation, just you and your spouse. It’s your annual getaway so every moment counts when it comes to quality, especially your dining experiences. By default, you kind of judge a book by it’s cover. As soon as you two walk in, the space is elegant but authentic. The attention to detail was put more into the way it makes you feel. The smell of woodfire & baking bread, the lighting is perfect and the sound of stacking plates indicates the food is fresh. Design your commercial bar around that.

Breweries, Bars, & Distilleries.
Owners get a free pass. So much money is spent on the product equipment that it actually becomes what is on display. Who minds that? There is an appreciation to the exactness of it all. There is also an appreciation to the simplicity and DIY of it all. Many hands pitching in to make dreams come true. Do avoid the pitfalls of potentially creating a beer garden that feels more like a cafeteria. There is charm in the disjointedness that can occur but it’s still responsible to not just throw a dart. We can lay it out for you on a napkin, if nothing else.
